The good news is that these aren’t random drops. Each Fish Egg has a specific location, and collecting them is how you unlock several different fish-themed tails.
Since Mermaid Isle has been re-released in August 2026, this is a useful collection to work on early, especially if you’re trying to build up your wardrobe without relying entirely on the shop.
The Fish Eggs are scattered across areas including Cradle Reef, Echoing Spires, Tranquil Waters, Selkie’s Plunge, Swirling Shoal, and Gloamtide Gorge. Some are sitting in obvious spots, while others are tucked inside shells, behind rocks, or on coral.

Mermaid Isle Fish Eggs Locations Guide – Tang Tails, Betta
Fish Eggs are collectible items hidden around the Mermaid Isle map.
When you find them, they aren’t simply collectibles for the sake of collecting. They are tied to different fish-inspired tail sets, including:
- Tang Tails
- Clownfish Tails
- Mandarinfish Tails
- Parrotfish Tails
- Polka Tails
- Betta Tails
- Stream Dancer Tails
- Tropical Tails
So, if you’re interested in collecting different appearances for your mermaid, Fish Eggs are definitely worth hunting down.
The easiest way to approach this is to work through one fish set at a time rather than swimming randomly around the entire map.
Tang Fish Egg Locations
There are three Tang Fish Eggs to collect.
Tang: Powder Blue
Location: Gloamtide Gorge
Head to Gloamtide Gorge and look around the rock shelves near the trident. The Powder Blue Tang Egg is sitting on a rock shelf in this area.
This one is relatively easy to spot once you’re near the trident, so don’t swim too far away from that landmark.
Tang: Yellow
Location: Echoing Spires
For the Yellow Tang Egg, make your way to Echoing Spires.
Look for a rock near the coral formations. The egg can be found sitting on the rock.
If you’re already collecting the other eggs in Echoing Spires, this is a good one to grab while you’re there rather than making another trip later.
Tang: Achilles
Location: Cradle Reef
Head over to Cradle Reef and look for the shell near the passage leading toward the underwater cave.
The Achilles Tang Egg is located inside or around this shell area.
Clownfish Fish Egg Locations
The Clownfish collection currently has three eggs.
Clownfish: Ocellaris
Location: Cradle Reef
In Cradle Reef, look for an anemone tucked behind a rock.
The Ocellaris Clownfish Egg is located on this anemone.
The rock makes this one slightly easier to miss if you’re simply swimming through the area, so check around the sides rather than only looking in open water.
Clownfish: Onyx Percula
Location: Cradle Reef
Stay in Cradle Reef for the second Clownfish Egg.
This one is sitting on an anemone that’s positioned on top of a rock.
It’s worth grabbing both Cradle Reef Clownfish Eggs during the same trip.
Clownfish: Lightning Maroon
Location: Selkie’s Plunge
Travel to Selkie’s Plunge and look to the right side of the shrine.
You’ll find the Lightning Maroon Egg sitting on top of an anemone.
Mandarinfish Fish Egg Locations
There are three Mandarinfish Eggs, and bubble jets are the main landmark you’ll want to remember.
Mandarinfish: Blue
Location: Swirling Shoal
Go to Swirling Shoal and find one of the bubble jets.
The Blue Mandarinfish Egg is sitting on top of the bubble jet.
Mandarinfish: Orange
Location: Gloamtide Gorge
Head to Gloamtide Gorge and look for the bubble jet near the trident.
The Orange Mandarinfish Egg is sitting on top of it.
This is another reason to grab the Powder Blue Tang Egg while you’re in the area.
Mandarinfish: Fiery
Location: Swirling Shoal
Return to Swirling Shoal and look around the gazebo.
You’ll find another bubble jet near the gazebo, with the Fiery Mandarinfish Egg sitting on it.
Parrotfish Fish Egg Locations
There are three Parrotfish Eggs to find.
Parrotfish: Blue
Location: Selkie’s Plunge
In Selkie’s Plunge, look near the drop-off.
The Blue Parrotfish Egg is sitting on top of a rock in this area.
Parrotfish: Violet
Location: Echoing Spires
Head over to Echoing Spires and search around the coral formations.
The Violet Parrotfish Egg is sitting on coral that’s attached to a rock.
Parrotfish: Pink
The Pink Parrotfish Egg is also part of the collection, so make sure you don’t stop after finding the first two Parrotfish Eggs.
When working through the Parrotfish set, check the coral and rock formations carefully rather than sticking to the open swimming paths.
Polka Fish Egg Locations
The Polka collection is a little smaller, with two eggs.
Polka: White
Location: Echoing Spires
Head to Echoing Spires and look for a seashell behind a rock.
The White Polka Egg is hidden inside the shell.
This is exactly the kind of collectible that’s easy to swim past if you’re not checking the environment.
Polka: Black
Location: Echoing Spires
The Black Polka Egg is also found in Echoing Spires.
Look for another seashell in the area. The egg is located inside it.
Since both Polka Eggs are in the same general region, you can save yourself a trip by collecting them together.
Betta Fish Egg Locations
The Betta set has five eggs, making it one of the larger collections.

Location: Selkie’s Plunge
Go to Selkie’s Plunge and search along the side of the cliff.
The Red Betta Egg is resting on coral along the cliff.
Betta: Green
Location: Tranquil Waters
In Tranquil Waters, look underneath the large floating rock.

Betta: Blue

Stay in Tranquil Waters and look for a shell near the coral.

The Purple Betta Egg is located inside the gazebo in Tranquil Waters.
If you’re already searching the area for the Green and Blue eggs, definitely check the gazebo before leaving.

The final Betta Egg is on a small floating rock in Tranquil Waters.

Stream Dancer Fish Egg Locations
There are three Stream Dancer Eggs.
Stream Dancer: Turquoise
Location: Cradle Reef
Head underneath the islands in Cradle Reef.
You’ll find a patch of seaweed underneath the islands, and the Turquoise Stream Dancer Egg is located there.
This one is particularly easy to miss because you’re looking underneath the islands rather than around the main reef.
Stream Dancer: Red
Location: Echoing Spires
In Echoing Spires, search around the coral attached to a rock.
The Red Stream Dancer Egg is located on this coral.
Stream Dancer: Yellow
Location: Cradle Reef
The Yellow Stream Dancer Egg can be found on the island in Cradle Reef.
If you’re collecting the other Cradle Reef eggs, grab this one during the same visit.
Tropical Fish Egg Locations
The final group is the Tropical collection.
Tropical: Sunset
The Sunset Tropical Egg is part of the Tropical collection. Make sure to check the surrounding environmental objects carefully when working through this set, as the location information for this egg is less clearly documented than the others.

Head to Echoing Spires and search near the shells.
The Sunrise Tropical Egg is located around this shell area.
Tropical: Midnight
Location: Swirling Shoal
Travel to Swirling Shoal and look inside the ravine.

This one is much easier to find once you know to look down inside the ravine rather than searching the main swimming area.
Best Way to Collect All Fish Eggs
If you’re starting from scratch, I wouldn’t recommend following the list randomly. You’ll end up swimming back and forth across Mermaid Isle for no reason.
A much better approach is to clear the areas one by one.
Start with Cradle Reef. There are several collectibles here, including Tang, Clownfish, Stream Dancer, and other nearby items. Check the rocks, anemones, shells, the island itself, and especially underneath the islands.
Next, move to Echoing Spires. This is another major collection area, with Tang, Parrotfish, Polka, Stream Dancer, and Tropical eggs all associated with the area.
After that, head to Tranquil Waters and clear all of the Betta locations. Since five Betta Eggs are concentrated here, this is one of the easiest areas to completely finish in one trip.
Then check Swirling Shoal, where you’ll find the Mandarinfish eggs around the bubble jets and gazebo, along with the Midnight Tropical Egg.
Finally, visit Selkie’s Plunge and Gloamtide Gorge to clean up the remaining eggs.
The biggest tip I can give you is don’t just look in open water. A surprising number of these collectibles are deliberately tucked into the environment: shells, coral, anemones, rock shelves, floating rocks, ravines, and areas underneath islands.

Fish Eggs aren’t really difficult once you understand how they’re placed around Mermaid Isle. The tricky part is knowing where to look.
Whenever you enter a new area, slow down for a minute and check the scenery. If you see a shell, coral formation, rock shelf, anemone, bubble jet, gazebo, or floating rock, there’s a good chance you should take a closer look.
Also, don’t assume an egg will always be sitting directly in front of you. Some are underneath islands or tucked behind environmental objects, which is why swimming around the edges and checking different heights can save you a lot of frustration.
And honestly, I’d collect these naturally while you’re exploring rather than trying to speedrun the entire list. Mermaid Isle is built around wandering around the ocean, discovering little things, and finding places you didn’t notice before. Once you know the general locations, the Fish Egg hunt becomes much more enjoyable instead of feeling like a giant scavenger hunt with no direction.
